Filmmaker Tim Sutton (“Donnybrook”, “Funny Face,”) returns to Filmwax to discus his latest film, a work of fiction, called “Taurus.” Directed and written by Sutton, “Taurus” stars Colson Baker (“The Dirt”, “One Way”), Maddie Hasson (“We Summon the Darkness”) Demetrius “Lil Meech” Flenory (“BMF”), Megan Fox (Transformers, Jennifer’s Body), Ruby Rose (“Orange is the New Black”), Scoot McNairy (Argo, 12 Years a Slave), Lil Tjay, and Naomi Wild. A rising but troubled musician searches for the inspiration to record one last song, pushing himself deep into the void. A work of fiction that explores fame, addiction, the artistic process, and the music industry, Taurus is a soulful and universal cautionary tale. RLJE Films will release the drama “Taurus” in Theaters, On Demand and Digital on November 18, 2022.

Both actors Jason Schwartzman and Lili Taylor return to the podcast for 2nd visits. They are both in Andrew Bujalski’s latest film, “There There”.

The film stars Schwartzman and Taylor along with Lennie James, Molly Gordon, and Avi Nash, and explores the precarious nature of human connection. “There There” is a round robin of emotional two-character vignettes in which seven people reach out and bond momentarily, setting the scene for the next encounter. A pair of new lovers, an alcoholic and her AA sponsor, a teacher and a parent, a lawyer and his client, and more move from scene to scene, revealing intimate details as they forge connections. Via a groundbreaking shooting process, Bujalski plays with ideas of isolation and perception by filming each actor individually in separate locations, only joining them to their partner’s performance in the edit. “There There” is currently screening at the IFC Center in NYC. It’s also available on demand and on digital.
