Legendary film programmer Larry Kardish makes his first appearance on Filmwax. Larry was the film curator at MoMA for over 40 years. He also helped found the FilmColumbia film festival in Chatham, NY which runs from Friday, October 21st through Sunday October 30th at the Crandell Theater. Ricki has directed a new documentary called “A Radical Life” which is currently streaming on the Discovery+ platform. “A Radical Life” takes an unfiltered look at the life of Tania Joya, the one-time ‘First Lady of ISIS’ and her 10-year marriage to John Georgelas. Georgelas was a Texas native who rose the ranks of ISIS when they met online and quickly married, uniting their shared dream of establishing an Islamic State. But when Georgelas relocates the family to Syria at the height of civil war, Joya begins to question everything she believes and must choose between her marriage and her children’s future.
