“The Seven Faces of Jane” is an anthology film consisting of eight short films, all starring actor Gillian Jacobs as the title character. The segments are directed by Gillian Jacobs herself, Ken Jeong, Ryan Heffington, Alexandra Cassavetes, Boma Iluma, Julian Acosta, Alex Takacs, and Filmwax guest Gia Coppola, Jane drops her daughter off at sleep away camp and drives away from her mundane life into an exciting odyssey on the road. Jane’s obstacles, connections and moments were created playing a game of exquisite corpse—a method of creating art by collectively assembling random parts to create a whole. “The Seven Faces of Jane” opens in select theaters and on demand on Friday, January 13th.

“On Sacred Ground” is based on the true events during the 2016 construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline that runs through the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. The film follows Daniel —played by my guest actor William Mapother— a journalist and military veteran, and Elliot (David Arquette), an oil company executive, who find themselves on opposite sides of the fight during the construction of the contentious pipeline. As the story unfolds, the two characters go down separate paths during one of the most heated protests and confrontations with Native American tribes in modern US history. “On Sacred Ground” opens in select theaters and on demand on Friday, January 13th.
