Filmmaker David Gordon Green (“George Washington”, “Prince Avalanche”) returns for his third time on the podcast. Green’s latest film, “Manglehorn”, starring Al Pacino, Holly Hunter, Chris Messina & Harmony Korine, is currently in theaters and available on demand through iTunes. The film is about a lonely aging locksmith, Manglehorn (Pacino), who is also a widower who begins a wistful relationship with a bank teller (Hunter). The film is being distributed by IFC Films.
Also, on the show is the filmmaker Patrick Brice who has two films that are currently out. The first, “The Overnight“, which is currently in theaters and which stars recent Filmwax Radio guest Jason Schwartzman, Adam Scott, Taylor Schilling and Judith Godrèche. They play two pairs of couples who end up having a most memorable evening after putting their kids to bed. The other film is Brice’s collaboration with Mark Duplass, a thriller called “Creep“, currently available on iTunes. In this one, Brice plays Aaron, who reads an online ad offering him $1,000 if he will film Josef (Duplass) over the course of the day; discretion appreciated. Things are not what they seem. The film is available on iTunes. Early on in the segment we are interrupted by Jason Schwartzman.
