This past week we lost a great friend of the documentary community: Nancy Buirski. In addition to making a number of exceptional films through her career, she also founded the Full Frame documentary festival. Perhaps most of all, she was a generous and thoughtful human being.

This past week we lost a great friend of the documentary community and to this podcast: Nancy Buirski. In addition to making a number of exceptional films through her career including “By Sidney Lumet” (2015), The Rape of Recy Taylor” (2017), A Crime on the Bayou” (2020) and, most recently, “Desperate Souls, Dark City, and the Legend of Midnight Cowboy” (2023). Nancy also founded the Full Frame Documentary Festival. Perhaps most of all, she was a generous and thoughtful human being. Condolences to her friends and family.
