The great actor Michael Stuhlbarg (“A Serious Man”, “The Shape of Water”) makes his first appearance on the podcast. He is currently starring in the psychological drama “Shirley” directed by Filmwax friend Josephine Decker (“Madeline’s Madeline”). Elisabeth Moss (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) plays the famed horror author Shirley Jackson, married to her Stanley Hyman (Stuhlbarg) a Bennington College professor philandering husband. Rising stars Logan Lerman (Indignation, Fury) and Odessa Young play the young couple that move in with Shirley and Stanley in the hope of starting a new life but instead find themselves fodder for a psycho-drama that inspires Shirley’s next novel. “Shirley” is currently streaming from Film Forum’s website.

Nina Davenport has made five feature-length documentary films including “First Comes Love”, all of which have won awards at film festivals, been broadcast on television stations around the world, and received critical recognition. She currently serves as the faculty chair at the Vermont College of Fine Arts Masters in Film department.
