Remembering Filmwax Radio friend Lynn Shelton (1965-2020). On this episode I pay tribute to the talented filmmaker who tragically died this past weekend from a blood disorder. I met Lynn in 2012 at the theatrical premiere of her film “We Go Way Back”. Shortly after that in the summer of 2012 I screened her second feature, “My Effortless Brilliance” in my film series and had actor Sean Nelson & DP Ben Kasulke there. Lynn called in for the Q&A. That’s what she was like. Some time later I interviewed her for her 4th film “Your Sister’s Sister” (just after “Hump Day”). While it wasn’t for the podcast, I did audio record it which is the first segment. The second segment on this episode is our podcast interview from “Touchy Feely” (2013) and, finally, the 3rd segment was for her second to last feature film, “Outside In” (2017) which we recorded in 2018. It was the last time I saw Lynn. I will miss her films but I will miss her more. She was always entirely present, authentic and magnanimous in spirit. A lovely person. Our condolences to her friends and family.
