Filmmakers Azazel Jacobs discusses his new HBO series “Doll & Em”; filmmaker Daniel Patrick Carbone discusses his feature “Hide Your Smiling Faces”; and the Brooklyn Heights Cinema owner, Kenn Lowy updates us on the theater.

Filmmaker Azazel Jacobs (“Momma’s Man”, “Terri”) is the first guest. Jacobs has directed a 6-part series for HBO called “Doll & Em”. The show is loosely based on the relationship of actresses Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells. When Dolly suffers a painful break-up, she agrees to go to Hollywood and become her friend & actress Emily’s personal assistant during the shoot of her current movie. An idea that starts from a genuine place of friendship and love, soon becomes far more complicated than the two besties could have ever predicted. The show has just recently begun airing.

Second guest is first feature filmmaker Daniel Patrick Carbone whose movie “Hide Your Smiling Faces” opens on Friday, March 30th in New York and already currently available on iTunes and Amazon Instant  Video as well as on demand. Visit the movie’s website for complete details about where you can see the film. The film had its US premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival last year and  is being distributed by Tribeca Film.

Last up is Kenn Lowy, owner of the Brooklyn Heights Cinema. Kenn was one of the first guests on the podcast and is back to discuss his Indiegogo campaign to raise funds for digitizing the theater. There is still time to contribute to this very worthwhile project; the movie’s future depends on your generosity.
