We are first joined by documentary producer and now director Marilyn Ness. Her new film, “Charm City” premiered at Tribeca Film Festival last year, the appropriately screened at the Maryland Film Festival in Baltimore which is what the documentary is about. “Charm City” delivers a candid portrait of citizens, police, community advocates, and government officials on the frontlines during three years of unparalleled, escalating violence in Baltimore. The film highlights the positive actions undertaken by groups and individuals, optimistically offering humanity as common ground. Then actor of stage, screen & television, Giancarlo Esposito (“Breaking Bad”, “Better Call Saul”, “Do The Right Thing”) is the guest in the first segment. Giancarlo is in a new movie musical called “Stuck“, based on the musical stage play by Riley Thomas, it is about six strangers, trapped in a subway car, who over the course of the day come to change each other’s lives in unexpected ways. Stuck is a move with a simple message about love and compassion and seeing that people, as a whole, are not so very different from one another. The film also stars Ashanti and Amy Madigan amongst its cast. The film opens nationwide on Friday, April 19. In New York City “Stuck” opens at the AMC Empire 25 in Times Square and at Cinema Village.
