In this episode of Filmwax Radio, I’m joined by Destin Daniel Cretton (“I Am Not A Hipster”), whose new film “Short Term 12“, a recent hit at SxSW, is having a screening at Rooftop Films this Saturday, July 20th at the Old American Can Factory. Calm and competent, Grace (Brie Larson) is a young counsellor at a California care unit for at-risk teens. However, her cool facade begins to crack in the pressure cooker atmosphere as she and some of the unruly residents are reminded of past and present abuses. Destin and I are joined briefly by his film’s star, Brie. The movie opens theatrically on Augusts 23rd.
