In this episode, the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival Edition, there are 4 segments. Up first, director of the short film, “The Foster Portfolio”, Danielle Katvan. Danielle is an award-winning director, whose films have screened at festivals internationally. She was named one of Film News Briefs ‘Filmmakers to Watch’, received an award from Kodak for Excellence in the Craft of Filmmaking and was selected as a finalist in the 2016 HBOAccess Directing Fellowship.

Up next, returning for his 2nd visit to the podcast (he was last on Ep. 90) Academy Award® nominated director Joe Berlinger with a new documentary called “Intent To Destroy” which is currently amidst the festival circuit. With this film Joe embeds himself on the epic film set of Terry George’s “The Promise” (starring Oscar Isaac, Christian Bale, Charlotte Le Bon, and with Angela Sarafyan), to take an unwavering look at the Armenian Genocide.

Next up, actress and filmmaker Josephine Decker returning for a 3rd appearance, this time with her co-director, Zefrey Throwell. Filmed over five years, “Flames” follows real-life couple Decker & Throwell from the white-hot passion of first love to the heartbreak of the bitter end. Equal parts performance piece and penetrating rumination on the way some relationships are never finished even after they end, Flames is an extraordinary docu-art hybrid- a raw nerve of a film that finds within its unique idiosyncrasies and eccentricities a universally affecting manifesto of heartbreak.

Lastly, returning for his 2nd time on the podcast, writer and director Oren Moverman with his latest film (once again starring Richard Gere), “The Dinner“. The film which also co-stars Laura Linney and Steve Coogan, is something of a dramatic thriller and is currently in theaters.
