The filmmaker and editor, Sam Pollard, is my sole guest on this episode. We discuss both Sam’s early life and how one our more respected editors just accidentally fell into editing. He’s since edited over 30 films including 6 films for Spike Lee alone. Among his recent projects as an editor are Remote Area Medical, Venus and Serena, and The Pleasures of Being Out of Step. In the filmmaker’s seat, he’s directed documentaries about Marvin Gaye, Zora Neale Thurston and the films of John Ford & John Wayne. As you’ll learn, Mr. Pollard is a huge fan of westerns and B movies.
