In the first segment of this episode of Filmwax Radio the guests are director Wong Kar-wai (“In the Mood for Love”, “Chunking Express”) and actor Tony Leung (“Infernal Affairs”). They have a new movie, “The Grandmaster”, which is being distributed by The Weinstein Company and opens nationwide on Friday, August 23rd.

Segment two brings filmmaker and beer enthusiast Joe Swanberg (“Silver Bullets”, “The Zone”) back to Filmwax Radio for his second appearance. “Drinking Buddies”, Joe’s latest, opens Friday, August 23rd but Magnolia Pictures has already made the indie comedy available on iTunes and on demand. The cast includes Olivia Wilde, Jake Johnson, Anna Kendrick and Ron Livingston. It’s the perfect late summer movie, as proven by the recent screening hosted by Rooftop Films & BAM. Joe and I actually spend most of the time discussing his other films and recent acting turns.

The last segment of this episode is a conversation with documentary filmmaker Adam Lough. His film, “The Motivation”, will get the Filmwax treatment this Saturday, August 24th at St. Francis College in Brooklyn Heights. Tickets are available here through The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival website.
