In this episode of Filmwax Radio, I welcome the team behind the comedy “Newlyweeds” including director Shaka King, and actors Trae Harris and Tone Tank. A match made in stoner heaven turns into an ugly love triangle when Lyle (Amari Cheatom) cannot choose between Nina (Harris) or Mary Jane. The film is having a Rooftop screening on the roof at the Trilok Fusion Center for the Arts, 143 Waverly Avenue at Myrtle Avenue on Thursday, July 18th.

Journalist John Anderson sits with myself and producer Betty Kaplan for a discussion about film criticism and some of the current films on the landscape. Anderson is a contributor to Newsday, The New York Times, and Variety to name just a few outlets.

Last up is my discussion with filmmaker Matthew Perkins who has a new indie comedy called “The Little Tin Man”. Also joining in on the discussion is his film’s lead actor, actor Aaron Beelner. A struggling dwarf actor (Beelner) gets tired of being overlooked for roles, so he auditions to be the Tin Man in a remake of “The Wizard of Oz.”
